women’s health essentials

A one-hour talk - webinar or in person.
What to do now for a healthy future (aka how to eat, move, think and sleep for the rest of your life)

This talk is an ideal follow-up to a menopause talk, or as a stand-alone session. It focuses on women’s health and nutrition (though much of it is applicable to other genders too) and covers many of the questions I’m often asked by women in midlife and of all ages:
how should my health habits change for optimal health now I’m in midlife/before I hit perimenopause/as a younger or older woman?
What should I eat?
How should I move?
How can I look after my body to nurture my mental, physical and emotional wellbeing?

Packed with practical tips and inspiring ideas; you’ll come away feeling inspired and empowered; thinking beyond the surface and delving into what true health really means.

This talk covers some key health areas:

 Brain

From brain fog to mood issues to the key things women need to know about protecting our brains as we age, dealing with stress and improving concentration and focus. Women face twice the risk of dementia compared to men; we’ll cover some practical tips and easy ways we can lower our risk and stay sharp, happy and performing at our best.

 Heart health

Heart disease is the biggest killer of women, and our heart risk starts to catch up to that of men as we get older – something many women don’t realise. What to look out for; how our hormones impact the heart and what we can do to protect heart health through food, movement and other practical (and unexpected) practices.

 Gut health

There’s emerging (and fascinating) research on the interaction between hormones and the gut microbiome; we’re learning more about how things change through our lives and what we might do to nurture gut health, which can have wide-ranging effects throughout the body.

 Body composition

Bone, muscle and fat: these three components are constantly changing in our bodies, and learning what we can do to keep a healthy balance as we go through life can make all the difference when it comes to staying vibrant and active as we get older, affecting not just how we move but our mood, sleep and stress levels too.
